James Thomas Rush

August 14, 1946 - November 4, 2016

James "Jim" Thomas Rush, husband of Betty Adams Rush, entered into eternal rest on November 4, 2016. The memorial service for Jim is on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at McEwen Funeral Service  Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Rd. Charlotte, NC 28210 with Apostle Arthur Bailey officiating.

Jim was born August 14, 1946 in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He graduated from Upland High School in 1964. Jim married his childhood sweetheart Catherine Stebritz. Shortly after  graduation he went in to the Marine Corp where he served four years.

He was a long time resident of Canyon, Texas. He attended West Texas A & M University where he received his Bachelors in Criminal Justice.  His proudest achievements were serving in the military, raising his  children, being loved by his grandchildren and great-granddaughter, and being a drug and substance abuse counselor. He recently moved to  Charlotte, NC to live with his son John and daughter-in-law Karen.

Jim is survived by his wife Betty, his brother Roy and sister-in-lw Susan, his sons: John and wife Karen, James and Brian: his daughter Angela King and her husband Walter, grandchildren: Jonathon Rush, Christian  Rush, Brent King, Samantha Rush, Kaitlin Rush, Danny King, Damien Kittrell, Bryce Rush, Ayden Rush, Seth King and Alice Rush and great-granddaughter Arora King, his stepsons: Chris Kittrell and Jason  Kittrell.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Delmer and  Melba Vaughn Rush, his wife Catherine Stebritz Rush, his son Thomas Rush, and his sister Towana Rush.
