Edward James Hanzlik, 72, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on November 23, 2018. He was born on September 24, 1946, in San Diego, California, to Edward E. Hanzlik and Corynne (Evans) Hanzlik.
Edward and his wife Roberta “Bobbie” lived in Katy, Texas for 35 years where he worked in the Oil and Gas Industry as a petroleum engineer. They recently moved to Central Texas to be close to their family. Mr. Hanzlik received the Legion of Honor from the Society of Petroleum Engineers International and was fondly known as “Mr. Heavy Oil”.Â
Ed was preceded in death by his brother Frederick Hanzlik and his parents Ed and Corynne Hanzlik. He is survived by his loving wife, Bobbie of Georgetown; sons, Jeremy Hanzlik and wife Jessica of San Antonio; Stuart Hanzlik and wife Kristine of Round Rock; Evan Hanzlik and wife Stephanie of San Antonio; grandchildren, Jimmy, Christopher, Alison and Emily; sister, Anita Lucas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on December 6 at Palm Valley Lutheran Church, Round Rock, Texas.
